An original pen-and-paper game you can play vs the AI.

This is one of my old pen-and-paper games that I previously published in a different form in a magazine, and it remains one of my favorites. You can challenge the AI in this version, but if you like it, you can also play it with friends instead of the classic Tic-tac-toe (though does anyone still play Tic-tac-toe?).

  • Goal: Occupy 6 "Houses" (circles) or end with more houses than your opponent.
  • Movement: Place an arrow 1, 2, or 3 cells away in the line indicated by the previous arrow.
  • Skipping: You can jump over occupied cells, but you cannot land on them or cross black walls.
  • Orientation: Every new arrow must point in a different direction than the last one.
  • Mate: If you block your opponent (Mate), they automatically receive all remaining empty houses.
  • Fair Play: You cannot intentionally cause a Mate if you have other legal moves available.
